Arcata Vacation

Arcata's misty morning sears me deep,
Coast Redwoods and Sequoias standing tall,
It wakes me to a beauty from a sleep,
a sleep I never knew was there at all,

Arcata's misty morning scent I reap,
the Pine and Eucalyptus blend I fall,
in love with life again I weep,
great works of God on us they did befall.

Pacific's ocean hits the cliffs so steep,
this Moonstone beach its wonders so enthrall,
a little river hits the salt tides neap,
huge boulders from the sand, this is my thrall,
My parents ashes sailed out from this shore
I now see why I walk and just adore
